Absolute majority of people tries to use emulation of Dreamcast on PC or smartphones exactly solely because they wish to play Dreamcast's games in high definition (and with custom shaders or AI-enhanced textures, if able to), NOT at the measly "x1 native". Originally posted by TehSpoopyQuarantinedKitteh:optional donation/tip buttonsThe problem with Redream, at least as I personally see it from my point of view, is that it's freeware version is VASTLY inferior to the payment-enclosed "HD" offering and is essentially utterly useless, rendering the paid version the only feasible one, and that just plainly sucks major balls in on itself already, regardless if the paid version of Redream is technically "optional" or not. ![]() Tanks in advance for any decent answers provided in regards to these questions of mine. Doesn't that contradict the whole point of RA being "libretro" and "cores being provided as free DLCs" scheme to begin with? Does this mean Steam's version of Retroarch won't use Redream as it's "free DLC" Dreamcast core at all, or maybe that it will only provide the crappy "no-high res" freeware version of it instead (which would suck massive ♥♥♥, in my personal humble opinion)? Emulators such as Redream are currently stuck behind a paywall (5$ in case with Redream in particular) and Wikipedia states that Retroarch supports Redream as one of it's Dreamcast cores (other being Flycast/ex-Reicast). In some of the threads here it's stated that emulator cores are going to be provided as a "free DLC" and that the said cores are going to be maintained by original devs directly. Any plans for a GOG version sometime down the line in the foreseeable future? Also - I know that RA already has "RetroAchievements" implementation of sorts, but I would like to know if this will also have official (Steam-endorsed) achievements added if this thing goes gold? And if it does - will the achievements be for the app or for the games?
